The thing for this week is timely! I am taking an online reference class through Wayne State University in which we conduct research for real clients. One of my clients is researching Flickr and cultural heritage. She is looking at the motivation behind cultural institutions posting their collections on Flickr. Currently we are concentrating on articles relating to the Library of Congress.
In her previous research she found that the majority of these institutions were not posting their collections, but instead posting social gatherings and such.
It is a very interesting topic!
That's very cool - I like hearing how these "things" are actually being used in the library world.
