Life without Scopus

Erin Menzies (UBC)
Systematic Review without Scopus

-    increasing citation count
-    systematic reviews as one of the ways to increase and build your research profile
-    making systematic reviews available to other researchers, reduces the time required to conduct research
-    broad knowledge base available through Scopus
-    is it possible to enhance your research profile, without subscribing to Scopus (increase systematic output)
-    create a compelling case, why should we purchase your product
-    negotiate with vendors based on use, citations
-    identify strategic collections goals and then build collections around them
-    identify core resources - if you have to refuse purchase, at least you will have a compelling reason
-    watch for bias, even ask yourself 'why do you prefer one product over another'

-    share findings
